@zonazoo

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

i keep getting this wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know what the parent function of the absolute value is right? The V... well to graph you could go by the transformations in the function... which tell you to go left 1 and down 4... but if you just fill out the table you could plot those points as well.

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

i did and i keep getting it wrong.. ill write what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for example the first one |-5+1| - 4 |-4| - 4 4 - 4 = 0 so the first point would be (-5,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do it for the second one |-4 +1| - 4 |-3| - 4 3 - 4 = -1 so the next point would be (-4, -1)

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

-8 -6 -4 -3 0 1 this is what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you see how i am doing it?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

yes i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so just to make sure you got all the same answers.. you should of got 0, -2, -4, -3, -2, 0, 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand how to graph it without plotting the points... just by the function itself?

OpenStudy (adajiamcneal):

yeah i understand how to do that :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great :-)
