Personally I believe 1st trimester abortions are only fair. After that it's murder.

If anyone wants to argue that its still murder in the 1st trimester, I counter that that means male masturbation and female menstruation are both also murder. Just to be clear, they are not.

Further, if you want to argue against abortion, you have to create a logical argument justifying yourself as knowing whats good for other people better than what they know as good for themselves.

Once you realize that you cannot do that, you might arrive at the conclusion that in some circumstances it is better to abort the possibility of an orphan, or a child who would be raised in a sub-ideal environment.

Just to clarify, when I say sub-ideal, I certainly don't mean to bring into mind anything about some standard that might be socially engrained. What I mean, in the most basic sense, is what can be simplified as Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The basic living environment that a human needs to undergo healthy psychophysiological development.

If a person believes that they cannot provide that for their potential child, than it is arguable that, the more responsible decision is to abort the growth.

I'm sure the fire burning in your heart is in regards to all the potential "Einsteins" and whoever else of, I would like to point out that it statistically more likely for that aborted growth to have, if it had been allowed to become a human, become a criminal deviant of no benefit to society. Of course, both of those points are mere speculation and of no value in a discussion of logic and reason.

If in the end, the point is to reach a logical and ethically sound basis from which to make our decision on whether or not we should have an abortion. The most important factor to take into account is whether or not we, being ourselves, indeed have a growing human tumor inside of our uteri at this very moment.

Without expressing my personal opinion, I offer the following logical contrary arguments. I won't mention all that I could. I'm just contributing some thought points for the OPs biased research. I have edited severely for space, but I believe nothing is addressed out of original context.

Trimester identification is not an exact science. You'll have to be more specific.
Are you saying there is a day, maybe a minute, where abortion is okay, but if you wait one moment longer, it's murder? This is a bit short on sensibility.

Life has nothing to do with fertilization? That's a very odd definition.

1. Abortion is not safe.

Contrary to the belief that abortion is as simple as removing a wart, it is actually a very serious procedure that can have very serious results. The clinic personnel will lead you to believe that complications rarely arise, but that is not the case. Many women have been damaged for life as a result of their legal abortion.

Your cervical muscle may be damaged in an abortion because the cervix is forcefully dilated. This means that your future pregnancies have a greater chance of resulting in miscarriage or premature delivery. Damage to the uterine wall is another concern. Perforation (puncturing) of the uterus, infection, hemorrhage, and blood clots are only a few of the complications that you could end up with. I you do have a :successful" abortion, scar tissue may still form which can cause sterilization, miscarriages and tubal pregnancies.¹ approximately two out of 10 women who abort their first pregnancy will never be able to have children again. Do you want to take that kind of risk?

2. Abortion leaves emotional scars.

Most often a woman will feel the consequences of her decision within days of her abortion. If they don't appear immediately, they will appear as she gets older. Emotional scars include unexplained depression, a loss of the ability to get close to others, repressed emotions, a hardening of the spirit, thwarted maternal instincts (which may lead to child abuse or neglect later in life), intense feelings of guilt and thoughts of suicide.² Don't be fooled —every abortion leaves emotional scars.

3. Abortion kills a baby.

Before you even know you're pregnant, your baby's heart begins to beat. At six weeks brain waves are measurable and your baby moves and responds to touch. At eight weeks she is perfectly developed, with fingers and toes, even her own set of fingerprints. By ten weeks she can squint, swallow and suck her thumb. If you tickled her nose she would move her head away. By eleven to 12 weeks all body systems are present and working.³ All she needs to become a healthy newborn is time and nourishment. Nothing new develops after 12 weeks! What would you name her? Rebecca? Stephanie?

4. Abortion is violent.

The most common method of abortion used in early pregnancy is suction aspiration. The cervix is forced open. A vacuum device 29 times more powerful than a home vacuum cleaner is used to suction out the "contents of the uterus."4

A D and E is performed after 16 weeks. As in the suction method, your baby is torn to pieces, but this time the abortionist uses a special instrument to tear the arms and legs from the body. He punctures her soft spot, suctions out the brain and crushed the skull, then removes the remaining body parts.

Another method done after 16 weeks is the saline abortion. A salt solution is injected into the baby's bag of waters. It poisons the baby and burns off her outer layer of skin. She actually convulses in pain for the hour or so that it takes for the solution to do its deadly job. The mother then goes into labor and gives birth to a dead baby.5

A hysterotomy (last trimester) is done by making an incision in the mother's abdomen. The unwanted child is lifted out and left to die.

The counselors at an abortion clinic will use obscure terms such as "product of conception," "contents of the uterus," and "fetal tissue" to refer to your baby. They will rarely advise you to carry your baby to term because they are operating for profit and they don't want to lose your business. Essentially, they are making money off of your problem! The abortionist can make more money by doing abortions than a regular physician can through caring for a woman through a 9-month pregnancy. Are you going to be the poor girl who finances his next trip to Europe?

There are many organizations that can offer you practical support such as maternity and baby clothes, a place to live, pre-natal care, and financial aid. Counseling is also available to help you through this traumatic time.

Over 55,000,000 babies have been slaughtered in American abortuaries since 1973. A startling 1.7 billion children have been aborted worldwide. More black babies were aborted in New York City in 2012 than were born. Where is justice? Just as Abel's blood cried out from the ground after Cain murdered him, so does the blood of every aborted baby in the world cry out to God from the ground for justice. Americans aren't just sinful, they are in denial about their sins. We have become sinfully proud and arrogant as a people, dismissing God's commands, removing prayer and Bible teaching from our public schools, and redefining God. What America desperately needs today is old-fashioned, Bible-believin', people-lovin', barn-stormin', window-rattlin', shingle-pullin', narrow-minded, Hell-fire and damnation, separated, soulwinning, preachers who aren't afraid to speak the truth!!! your heart is in the right place for sure! the last time i put my opinion in i realized i wanted to help you a little more.. since i have never had an abortion a friend of mind gave me her opinion on it.. she had to make a choice in her past and she told me the reason why she didn't keep the child was because she was deep in a terrible addiction.. she knew she needed to clean herself up before she could have a child so she aborted her first child.. 5 years later she is clean and healthy and she has a 3 month old son! she told me that if she didn't abort her child the first time, her child wouldn't be able to live happily or healthily because of her mistakes. she said, quote, "i decided to ruin my life with addiction, but once i realized i could ruin another life i couldn't dare to go through with it, life deserves to be lived.. but not if i tainted them with something that scar then in the future." she said it was ok for you to use her story for your paper. i dont know if it helps.. but it gives you some sort of understanding from the other side..

well this is how i see it...if your going to write an essay concerning opinions, the best thing to do is accept all opinions without arguments, so lets say... i have to write an essay like yours but Im fighting for gay rights (just an example).. i post a question..like you did on here but instead of saying "i have an essay concerning gay rights, whats your opinion" that would be the appropriate way to ask for others opinions.. but when you write things like "help me fight against it" thats just asking for a little tension..

One more hint... You were given a story from an actual person. Your response to this story was "Some people make mistakes". You have injected your views into someone else's story. This is not an appropriate use of that person's story. You were given this story to add someone's reality to your thought process. You were not given the story to wedge it into what you already were thinking and call it a "mistake".

These are SUPREMELY broad categories, and so generalized in fact that to make the bold claim that ALL children are born outside of these basic necessities is almost blasphemy. almost. Society TOTALLY knows what ideal is, it's pretty simple actually: protection from harm, shelter, interpersonal relationships, self worth, curiosity and wonder.

Frankly, YOU my friend are an idealist if you believe that ALL children are born in sub-ideal environments. Either that or born and raised in the suburbs?
