OpenStudy (spring98):

If y – 3 = 3x, which of the following sets represents possible inputs and outputs of the function, represented as ordered pairs? A. {(0, 3), (1, 6), (2, 9)} B. {(3, 0), (6, 1), (9, 2)} C. {(1, 3), (2, 6), (3, 9)} D. {(3, 1), (6, 2), (9, 3)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To solve this, you have to take each set of ordered pairs and plug them into the equation

OpenStudy (spring98):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if we were to see if A is the right choice, plug in all the pairs of numbers. So the first would be 0 for x and 3 for y and then solve the equation etc etc

OpenStudy (spring98):

i don't get it

OpenStudy (josedavid):

what unit is this

OpenStudy (gabebae):

Do you guys need help?

OpenStudy (spring98):

yes we do plz!!

OpenStudy (gabebae):

it's A. {(0, 3), (1, 6), (2, 9)}

OpenStudy (gabebae):

Do you need me to explain it?

OpenStudy (spring98):

sure that is what i was just going to say!!

OpenStudy (gabebae):

All you're basically doing is taking the x and y coordinates and substituting them into the equation y – 3 = 3x.

OpenStudy (spring98):

Thank you very much!! that was very helpful!! :}

OpenStudy (gabebae):

you're welcome I hope I actually did help

OpenStudy (spring98):

of course it did!!
