does \[\det(A-3I)=\det(3I-A) \]?

The \(\det(3I-A)=-\det(A-3I)\) for square matrix of odd size and \(\det(3I-A)=\det(A-3I)\) for square matrix of even size.
Since you know \(\det(3I-A)=0\) it doesn't matter.
