Find the power function that the graph of f resembles for large values of |x|. f(x)=(x+3)^4(x-3)^2 A. y=x^4 B. y=x^8 C. y=x^6 D. y=x^2 please help.

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

pick the one with the same degree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean with the same degree?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

if you multiplied \(f(x)=(x+3)^4(x-3)^2\) out, what would the highest exponent be? (you don't have to multiply it to see the answer)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so would you add the 4 and 2 or would you multiply the 4 and 2?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

when you multiply you would add the exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's y=x^6

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yes or as we always say "when in doubt, Charlie out' \[\color\magenta\heartsuit\]
