In the following static situation, find the reaction at A. (My problem: how can this situation be in equilibrium along the y-axis and rotationally at the same time? When I manage to get one to sum to zero, the value leads to a net force or torque.)

I can't even get the torque, taken from the leftmost point, to be zero: \[\sum\tau=(500*13)lb-(8*1000)lb=-1500\]
