OpenStudy (amenah8):

fine the value of r if a line with a slope of -5/2 contains the points (1, -3) and (r, 17)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the slope formula. Search for "slope formula"

OpenStudy (amenah8):

slope + Rise /Run (change in y/change in x)?

OpenStudy (amenah8):

I mean slope = Run/Rise ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's rise/run.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ y-y2 }{ x-x2 }\]=slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y is the first y-coordinate, y2 is the second y-coordinate. Same thing for the x values.

Does that help? Do you know how to solve the problem now?
