Bit of help with Exponential Functions. Last 4 problems some with multiple parts.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its C

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

What? Its not multiple choice. Did you even read the question?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

@johnweldon1993 @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

P=principal amount (starting amount ) r= interest rate ( we need in decimal form so first divide 6 by 100) t =years (time ) n= number of compounding period ( times per year) compounded semiannually = n= 2 ( 2 times in a year) compounded quarterly =n= 4 ( 4 times per year) compounded monthly n=12 (12 months in a year) compounded continuously =n=1

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Yes I figured out that top part. Thank you for the second half of information. I didnt know all that.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

I have all the information set up as the equation but im not sure where im suppose to start at.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

A= 25,000 (1+ 0.06 over 2) ^2*7

Nnesha (nnesha):

PEMDAS rule first solve parentheses then exponent 3rd) multiply/add

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\rm A=2500(\color{ReD}{1+\frac{0.06}{2}})^{2*7}\] divide 0.06/2 = 0.03 \[\rm A=2500(\color{ReD}{1+ 0.03})^{2*7}\] now just add one and then exponent

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

1.03...

Nnesha (nnesha):

ye \[\rm A=2500(\color{ReD}{1.03})^{2*7}\] and 2 times 7 =14 \[\rm A=2500(\color{ReD}{1.03})^{14}\]

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Okay.. I got 37814.74312 ..

Nnesha (nnesha):

it's 25000** my bad

Nnesha (nnesha):

correct round it nearest cent

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

um 37814.7 ?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

When I did 1.51 *25000 I got 37750 .. So which is the correct answer?

Nnesha (nnesha):

(1.03)^14 = 1.512589 so if you round it hundredth and thousandth place 1.5126 times 25000= you will get 37815 something

Nnesha (nnesha):

i will directly type all of this into the calculator \[\rm A=25000(\color{ReD}{1+\frac{0.06}{2}})^{2*7}\]

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Its saying 37814.7 is not the correct answer.

Nnesha (nnesha):

round nearest cent** in other words round nearest hundredth

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1446507852632:dw| circle the hundreth place and then look at the next number if it's 5 or above 5 then round number on hundred place one unit up
