The phosphoryl group transfer reaction catalyzed by hexokinase proceeds through a trigonal bipyramidal intermediate. The overall reaction results in the inversion of the configuration of the tetrahedral phosphoryl group. Design an experiment that will allow you to demonstrate the inversion of the phosphoryl group configuration in the hexokinase catalyzed phosphorylation of glucose?
