Can someone tell me if my answer is correct I multiped 7.5×10³ × 5×10² and I got 3.75×10⁴ as my final answer Am I correct ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you plug it into a calculator? That's an easy way to check :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I plugged it in and your answer is wrong, but only by a few values in the exponent of 10. So you're off by a certain power of 10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I multiplied 7.5×5 I got 37.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that's correct. And what do you get when you multiply 10^3 and 10^2, using basic knowledge of properties of exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10^5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I made a error lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. So, so far we have 37.5 x 10^5 When you move the decimal to the left, you add to the exponent :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.75×10^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep!! :)

Thanks @Cshrix
