What environmental conditions cause mutations in the DNA structure?

OpenStudy (tumblewolf):

Ultraviolet radiation and chemicals are some of the biggest natural factors. Mutation usually happens fairly early on in the fertilization process. The three types are substitution, deletion, and addition. Substitution is when a chemical interferes with the DNA and replaces itself in the place of another vital chemical. Deletion is when something takes a part out of the code. Addition is when the factors decide they are going to add an extra piece to the puzzle. So the main causes are: Radiation Chemicals Polutition and Natural mistakes in the fertilization process
