Simplify: (1/2)^log base8^512 HELP PLEASE :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda hard to read is it one half to that power?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no matter, first job is to compute \[\log_8(512)\] which is not has hard as it looks, because by some miracle \(521\) is an integer power or \(8\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops i meant \(512\) is an integer power of \(8\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve \[8^{x}=512\] that is the answer to \[\log_8(512)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(1/2)^{Log _{8}512}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log_8(512)=x\iff 8^x=512\] in other words they say the same thing
