The beginning of the Pre Cambrian is known as the Hadean eon. The planet was just born, and it was very very hot, and in fact molten. There were a lot of volcanic activities, and because of the way the solar system was created, there were still a lot of collisions between different bodies.

The earth is NOT solid, even now. We live on a thin crust under which is a molten mass of liquid rock several thousand miles thick. I do not think there are ANY truly solid planets in our solar system. We're not 100% sure of course, since we have not actually been to any of them.

which one is it then !!_
