Exactly means it's right but not always right on the dot a.k.a approximate. Approximate is an precise number but not always accurate.

Funny.... but I can answer that for other reasons. I took statistics. An exact answer is one that can happen when you know every data point in the set, have a snap shot of a whole event. Approximates are normally what you deal with. You don't know everything so you use rules that let you apply a sample to find a generalization about the whole that is based in numbers and science.
