OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

Which of the sets of ordered pairs represents a function? A = {(–4, 5), (1, –1), (2, –2), (2, 3)} B = {(2, 2), (3, –2), (9, 3), (9, –3)} (4 points) Only A Only B Both A and B Neither A nor B

OpenStudy (jchick):

A function should pass the vertical line test. That is, the same x value should not have two or more different y-values.

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

Hey again! For A: 2 is mapped twice, so it isn't a function. Remember, Any time a member of the domain is mapped twice it is never a function. For B: 9 is also mapped twice, so it can't be a function. Therefore, Neither A nor B are functions. -mal :P

OpenStudy (jchick):

So the same x-value does not give two different y-values.

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

THANK YOU AGAIN :)

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

No problem! If you need help, all you need to do is @mention me, and I'll be there as soon as I can.

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

OK! ^_^
