OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

What document expressed the feelings of Lodge and his supporters about relations with European nations? Article X The Fourteen Points Treaty of Versailles The Fourteen Reservations I know it's not A or B because he was against both of those, but I'm not sure if he was against the Treaty or not?

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

My lessons says directly that "he attached fourteen reservations to the treaty" but they don't specifically name them the Fourteen Reservations so?

OpenStudy (beatboxingfetus):

Lodge sabotaged the League covenant by declaring the United States exempt from Article X. He attached reservations, or amendments, to the treaty to this effect. Wilson, bedridden from a debilitating stroke, was unable to accept these changes. He asked Senate Democrats to vote against the Treaty of Versailles unless the Lodge reservations were dropped. Neither side budged, and the treaty went down to defeat. ( http://www.ushistory.org/us/45d.asp ) I don't believe that it's the Treaty of Versallies
