a car rental company charges 35 dollars a day plus 25 cents a mile to rent a car. what would be the cost to rent a car for one day and drives it 200 miles? I need help ;)

OpenStudy (aworldofcolor):

I believe it would cost $85 a day to drive 200 miles and rent it because 0.25 times 200 equals 50 and add 35 to it

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Since it costs $35 a day and 25 cents a mile and you only rent the car for one day and drive it 200 miles you can figure it out multiplying 200 by .25 to convert that into dollars. Then you add that amount to the 35 dollars. 35+50=85.
