WILL MEDAL AND FAN!
@Directrix can i give u a medal for this one too, do u think u could help?
The first task is to solve the inequality. 5 - y < 4 Subtract 5 from both sides 5 - y < 4 -5 -5 ---------------- @elizabethroland53 What is the result after subtracting 5 from both sides?
-y<-1?
@Directrix
I did not get that.
5 - y < 4 -5 -5 ---------------- - y < -1 is what I got 5-5 = 0 and 4 - 5 = -1
Solve this for y: - y < -1
yeah thats why i said.
is it C?
I don't look at the answers until I have something to check. - y < -1 y > 1 That comes from multiplying both sides by -1. Multiplying an inequality by a negative reverses the order of the inequality.
We are looking for a graph of y > 1. Do you still think it is C?
oh greater than 1, would be A
No, it's not C. C is a graph of x < 1
A then?
Option A has a solid dot on 1. That means 1 is included in the solution. Option A is a graph of the inequality x >= 1. That is not what we are graphing.
Why is this so confusing!:(
oh darn i didnt see the differnce in the little circles, like D?
A circle on the number means the number is not included. Option D is the graph of x > 1
