will medal and fan 1. What is the slope of the line y = -5x - 9? 2. What is the y-intercept of the line y = -2x - 8? 3. What is the slope and the y-intercept of the line y = 5/4x + 9?

OpenStudy (m_m13):

@MrNood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll give you number 1 in a sec. Number 2 is -8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3. y-intercept is 9

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@42 it is against the rules ot give direct answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b. B is the y-intercept. That is why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Therefore y=-5x-9 the -9 would be b, which is the y-intercept. The same with number 3.

OpenStudy (m_m13):

okay

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the equations you have written are in the form y = mx + b in THAT form the value of m is the slope and the value of b is the y- intercept so look at the first equation what vaslue is the equivalent of m in that question? that is the slope value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I was going to ask, so yeah, m is the slope, so what would the slope be fore 1. and 3.
