The use of exaggerated language in writing is

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

are there any answer choices?

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

is there hyperbole

OpenStudy (clongoria2):

I believe exaggerated language is used to give emphasis to something. Or to show the intense emotions a character has. For example. If i said "my heart is broken." Its pretty dull and has no real emotion. But if i said. "My heart was shattered into a thousand shards of glass that could never be repaired." That shows a lot more emotion

OpenStudy (clongoria2):

So the use of exaggerated language is to give emphasis to what you are trying to describe/say.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

so it won't be hyperbole because it means to be sarcastic

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

right

OpenStudy (clongoria2):

A hyperbole is exaggerated language :p

OpenStudy (clongoria2):

Sarcastic language is just called sarcasm,

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

so am i right or wrong? i'm confused

OpenStudy (clongoria2):

If you are saying a hyperbole is exaggerated language then yes. But the question is asking why do you use hyperboles.

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

oh i read the question wrong
