i am writing a personal narrative essay and i am wondering would this sentence make sense?
"Upon seeing me, they smiled my way as sweetly as a lemon."

the simile is supposed to express how their smile wasn't friendly

I don't know, I didn't get the connection. Maybe you could do, like, sour? Because the sweetly and lemon makes it hard to connect it being unfriendly.
