Question 7 of 10 Multiple Response: Please select all correct answers and click "submit." Here is a table of values for y = f(x). x 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 f(x) 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Mark the statements that are true. A. The domain for f(x) is the set {5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13}. B. f(5) = 6 C. The range for f(x) is all real numbers. D. f(15) = 8
@Ghostgate
Well, let's look at this deeper: For A: A says that the domain(which is the 'x' value of a set), has certain numbers, let me put them side by side: Actual List: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 Choice A: 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 Now for B: If f(x) is 5, what is on the other list below that? Well: x = 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 f(x) = 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 So... with this in mind if f(5) = What's below '5'. Now for C: Well, what's a real number? A real number is technically anything that exists, for instance the square root of negative numbers aren't real and the infinite "number" isn't real either because it never ends, so... what does that say? Now for D: Well, as for B, look at the graph: x = 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 f(x) = 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 If f(x) is 15 then what is below it? In conclusion, what do you think the answers are? I hope this helps in someway! Have a great day! {---Ghostgate---}
umm
what do you think?
Well what do you think the answer is, I can't just give you the answer. Anyhow, let me show you something: A = Incorrect, why? Because when you look closely A's set has one less number than the actual set. C = Correct, why? Because the numbers listed are real numbers that exist. Try figuring out if B and D are incorrect or not, just tell me what you think, alright?
