I'm guessing both sides are filled with the same amount of water. If that's the case, you are correct - B is the answer! Hypotonic refers to a relatively lower solute concentration. Side A has fewer dissolved particles in it than side B, so it is hypotonic compared to side B. Hypertonic is the opposite - a higher solute concentration - so side B would be hypertonic with respect to side A. Isotonic means equal solute concentrations, which is not the case here.
