(Medal if you help) Find the coordinates for the center for this circle. (x + 3)² + (y - 5)² = 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can some one help ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is algebra right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no geometry ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, sorry, but I haven't learned that far yet... just a lil' freshman :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it might be using algebra but its for geometry class~ I have no idea how to find the center

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The co-ordinates of the circle is given by (-3,5) with radius 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

someone told me its in the equation already before but i dont understand that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think of this question as if: (x+3)^2 = 0 x + 3 = 0 x = -3 Think of it this way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the number is negative if it has a + ? in the equation ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah essentially, do the opposite sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok now I get it ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Great ^^
