Explain why fertilizer use by farmers can have negative effects on aquatic ecosystems. Explain how predator and prey populations limit each other's growth rates.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fertilizers pollute the watter supplies, and

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and?!!?? @CaptainFluffy lol

OpenStudy (captainfluffy):

A.) Fertilizer causes dead zones were there is no oxygen for the fish to breath causing that area to have no life B.)predators and prey have the same bond as protons and newtons, they cancel each other out

type faster!! xD @CaptainFluffy

OpenStudy (captainfluffy):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the first one could be It can negiatively affect the environment because it can cause a sudden growth in algea causing it to completely cover the waters surface. It can also cause a large inbalance in the ecosystems nitrogen levels in the water.;

OpenStudy (captainfluffy):

its kinda sugar coating it all

Explain the process of desertification. Include an example of an event that can cause desertification and describe the changes that occur as desertification takes place. Finally, explain the end result of this process.

OpenStudy (captainfluffy):

ookay

OpenStudy (captainfluffy):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertification too much to type just copy the link and read the first sentence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Desertification is the process in which an environment becomes drier in climate, typically causing plant and animal life to decrease significantly. Some refer to the spreading of a desert climate as desertification as well. Researchers have found that areas around current deserts are becoming desertified, therefore expanding the desert. Climate change is thought to be the most significant reason why we see desertification occurring. Climate change is pretty much another way to say that weather patterns are changing, which cause rainfall patterns to change significantly and "migrate" to other areas of the globe. Areas that may have once had adequate rain may now not receive much rain at all, causing desertification. Hope this helps!

did that help?

Yes thanks!
