There have been many film adaptations of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. How do most film adaptations differ from the original text version of the story?

They usually cut out a lot of details because they can't fit it all into a movie. Like some people when they watch harry potter, they're upset because the directors took out a portion of the book to fit within the 2 hour time limit of the movies. They might add new characters, or add different personalities for the regular characters.
