I would say false -- retirement and education is a long term goal because of the amount of time it takes to complete/reach. Usually you should always save and plan for retirement so that when retirement time does come, you can benefit! Education -- you probably spend nearly 20 years in school. . TK-PreK-Elementary School-Middle School-High School-Undergraduate-Graduate... Seems like long term to me!
