OpenStudy (maddy1251):

I need more log help? Haha.. Write the expression 3log(x-2)+log(x+2)-log(x^2-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write it what??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify it??

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

@ceceburns2010 as a single logarithm.. Sorry! :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Np....are there options? or just a response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry its log((x−2)^2)

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

Its just a response. I just don't know how to do it. How did you get that answer? @ceceburns2010

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it's just like expanding, although you aren't factoring, you need to find and combine like terms. Also, simply -4, getting -2 and keeping the exponent of 2....make sense or not really??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You keep X all together and keeping it as just X and not X^3

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

@ceceburns2010 Yeah! It makes sense. My pre-calc teacher is terrible at teaching. She doesn't explain these kind of problems so that leaves me drawing blanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha well im homeschooled and only see my teacher once a week...so i understand. Teachers are either good or they aren't...there's no in between lol
