|y + 4| < 1
ok lemme ask u a question
What question
We know that absolute values have either a negative or positive value right? So our set up would be this: 1) y+4=1 <---solve for y 2) y+4=-1 <--solve for y
yes before anything u need to solve y
srry my internet crashed
So 1) -3 and 2) -5 ?
Yes :)

Thank You!!
:)
You forgot the signs
y <−3 and y >−5
|y+4| <1 is equivalent to -1<y+4<1 The next step is to subtract 4 from each side . You end up with -5<y<-3 as the correct result
Oh thank you for helping me!
Both answers mean the same thing.
But only one of them is written in the proper form.
But they are still the same.
