can u explain what is difference between heat and temperature

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Temperature is the measure of existing conditon, heat is a measure of energy a substance may have at a given temperature. Heat flows from a higher temperture to a lower temperature. An example is Heat of Fission which is the amount of Heat, energy, required for a specific subtance to go from a liquid state to a solid, at a constant temperatrure, in this case the amount of heat removed.

Another comparison that can be made is the difference between a pot of water and an oven. If you stick your hand in a pot of boiling water, you'll burn yourself very quickly. This is because there is a temperature difference between your hand and the water and the water contains a significant amount of heat. You can stick your hand in an oven for longer without getting burned. although the oven may be hundreds of degrees hotter than the boiling water, it does not have the same energy, namely heat.
