If you have a ship that weighs 2000 tons, will it float if it displaces 4000 tons?I know that this is sort of a stupid question but whatever?

Objects floating in water will displace a mass of water equal to their own mass. That means a 2000 ton boat will displace 2000 tons of water, and cannot displace more water than that by floating.
