Lately people have been asking their questions here on OpenStudy Feedback. Is there something we can do about it?
Not really. I do know that some people ask their questions here sometimes when there's no one helping them in the section where there supposed to asked their question. For the newbies, it's best to just welcome them to OpenStudy and direct them to the right section. I don't think it's that bad. I usually see @iambatman closing the posts sometimes when they're answered.
well i think just nicly tell them this is the incorrect section and guide them to the correct section
Yeah, I usually inform them they are in the wrong section, and try and help them with their answer anyway.
Okay, thank you. That's what I do as well, @SamanthaGreer.
I suggested having a message pop up when you first join OpenStudy Feedback. The message should list what questions are appropriate in OS Feedback.
That's a wonderful suggestion, @ConfluxEpic!
Thanks.
What @Ddos_Dragon said, It also may be good to help them with their question. If you feel like. A few Mods and users do it sometimes.
We could have them ask a question and then have them choose a category.
their*
Example: A new user joins OS and asks this: What happens during mitosis? Then a pop up comes up either recommending a section, or listing the sections for them to choose.
@Ddos_Dragon I usually say.... Welcome to Open Study @..... It appears that you've posted this question in the wrong section. At the top of the screen, you'll find the new subjects link. Click that and fine the subject that best fits your question. Thankyou and welcome to open study again :) While you're at it, let me introduce you to some cool users to get you started @TheSmartOne @pooja195 @iambatman @confluxepic
@ConfluxEpic was never there...
How about preventing them from making the mistake in the first place. Prevention is better than the cure. ~Some random person.
He was there, I accidentally took him down xD
@confluxepic That's exactly what my proposal would have done. By the way, it was Desiderius Erasmus
I think it was Desid...
I suggested a tutorial video of sorts in the past. You know how in those online sites and games where there's a moving arrow etc.? That would work with your suggestion. I know that there are already tutorial bubbles, but those only appear after a user takes an action, which unfortunately doesn't prevent posting in the wrong subject.
The main problem is when users verify their emails. In the email it links them to OS Feedback if they have any questions, so they come here and post their questions. lol
^lol i new knew that
OpenStudiers are amazing, and Ambis are even more amazing! Good replies.
^
^ Poor mods didn't even make it into the comparision :D
