Actually, I believe that a man named John Joseph Merlin invented inline skating. For he was experimenting with devices worn on feet in 1780, ALSO (this is extra, not sure if you will need this) later on another type of skates were also invented by a man named Louis Legrange of France in 1849. He created skates specifically supposed to be worn in warm weather.
