Compare and contrast the inner and outer planets. You must write at least 4 sentences

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Help pls? ;-;

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

This is astronomy... and by "inner" does it refer to the solar system or the asteroidal belt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm

563blackghost (563blackghost):

What do you so far know about the inner and outer planets?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one is cold, one is hotter?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well yes but that does not mean that all the outer planets are cold and all the inner planets are hot beucase Jupiter's average temperature is about -234 F while an inner planet; Mars, has a temperature of about -305 F.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

One difference between the inner and outer planets is that all the outer planets (not including Pluto since its a dwarf planet) have rings. Jupiter has 4, Saturn has many, Uranus has 11, and Neptune has 4. While the inner planets have none.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what exact;y shoudl i do?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

What do you mean exactly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what should I write on the 4 sentences? about jupiter or something? i don't know any differences

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well for differences write. One difference between the two is that the outer planets have rings while the inner planets don't. Now try and think of a sentence for similarities.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They were both formed by the big bang?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well kinda.... Our solar system was formed 4.6 billion years ago while the big bang happened about 15.8 billion years ago....think of another.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk any others.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ idk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ugh i am gonna fail X:. Inner is closer to the sun, the outer ones are farther away from the sun?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well one similarity is that they all were formed during the same period of time so 4.6 billion years ago.... and yes inner is closer to the sun and outer is farthest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thoguht of one but ti was wrong XD

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Another difference is that the outer planets are HUMONGOUS! Now Mercury is the smallest with the diameter of about 4,878 km and Earth has a diameter of about 12,756 km....while the outer planets; Jupiter has a diameter of about 142,984 km and the smallest out of the outer planets has a diameter of 49,532 km. Thats alright xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THATS THE ONE THAT I SAID! but I thought neptune was small

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well Neptune is the smallest of the outer planets :) so you got that one kinda right just needed to specify....do you need another similarity between the both?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you help me with the rest of my stuff? it's allot but I don't wanna fail.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

up to you though XD

563blackghost (563blackghost):

sure xD probably a few more i gtg in about 10 min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Describe three type of telescopes and what they are used for. Think about: How are they the same? How are they different? You must write at least 4 sentences.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't even know any. or what to pick from...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD

563blackghost (563blackghost):

OOOoo i know this one xD One type of telescope is the reflector telescope... It is used by most astronomers xD. Now this telescopes is used mostly for seeing the terrain of like the moon and they are alot cheaper and have clear picture and one disadvantage is that when trying to see deeper space objects its quite blurry and the optics requires alot of maintenance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't ask me about these telescpoes. I know 0 things about science XD

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Ok :) Well another type is Refractor telescopes.... Now these are quite old they are actually the first ever kind of telescope made even Galileo used one which was back in the 1400's. Now since these are a little outdated they kind of distort pictures so when seeing the moon it wont be as clear as reflector telescopes. Now these telescopes are also the smallest of all kinds of telescopes so its mostly used to like binoculars and scopes for like snipers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Galio used that telescope...???

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Yup he was able to make one telescope magnify to about 30 times so he was able to see some planets but they were like a bright dot....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Now the reflector telescopes are able to see some deep space objects but the magnification had to be intense so way bigger telescopes then the one they sell in stores.... The largest is probably the Hubble telescope which is actually in space which finds many other galaxies and exoplanets.... Now those are the main two types of telescopes....there is radio but i dont think that applies....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I read all of the sentences. but exactly are the similarites and differences. one is old and the other one is for modern stuff?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One requires more maintence than the other?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well the similarites is that they both of course can see the inner planets but a difference is that reflector telescopes are able to see galaxies, outer planets, exoplanets, nebuleas, etc.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Yup the reflector ones since they are more complex....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need 3 types XD. Ok.So the refrlector is basically better. The refractor is used for ,snipers, and was used by gallieo?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Im sorrey but i must go....if you ever see me on and need help in the future just tag me in your question..... Yup... and is also used for binoculars... And the hubble is a reflector as well...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. cya
