calculus https://www.dropbox.com/s/y8s8df2tqyky15f/Screenshot%202015-11-06%2023.12.39.png?dl=0 how would you start refactoring it ?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

u know (t-2) is a common factor so u start w that...

zepdrix (zepdrix):

The denominator factors as such,\[\large\rm \lim_{t\to2}\frac{t^3+3t^2-12t+4}{\color{orangered}{t^3-4t}}=\lim_{t\to2}\frac{t^3+3t^2-12t+4}{\color{orangered}{t(t-2)(t+2)}}\]So the numerator is probably has a factor of (t-2) or (t+2), ya? :) Plugging in t=2 gives us 0 in the numerator, so clearly (t-2) is a factor, as Dave pointed out. Remember how to do Polynomial Long-Division or Synthetic Division?

OpenStudy (christos):

unfortunately I dont remember :( what is the difference between long division and synthetic division ? @zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Umm they're both the same thing :d Just two different ways of representing division.|dw:1446845873933:dw|
