He actually became really unpopular because of his constant nagging for independence. It wasn't until delegate Lee from Virginia proposed to the congress that some document for independence be written up that congress began to consider it - then allowing it, chose Thomas Jefferson to write the declaration of independance

C. They offered freedom to every slave that would join the British side. However, often times the slaves became worse off then they were with their masters. Due to the fact that they were mostly still treated as slaves, disease in army camps, and getting bad positions of work. They were treated better in the American Continental side, some even becoming officers.
