consider the following number of bits 6,10 how many different binary values can each represent ?? what the range of unsigned numbers represented in each case?? repeat problem 3 if you assume a decimal point exists in the center of each number what is the smallest fraction that can be represented in each case??

2**6 and 2**10 different binary values. The most significant bit is used as the sign bit, so the ranges become -2**5 thru 2**5-1 and -2**9 thru 2**9-1. I don't know floating point encoding, sorry.
