Why was the Great Migration such an important part of the Progressive Era? It showed the shift from an agricultural based-economy into an industrial- based economy. It showed the shift of political tolerance of African Americans. It showed that all African Americans preferred to live in the South. It showed that the North and South had equal opportunities for African Americans. It showed that African Americans finally had equal rights with whites. Please Help!!

A. The Great Migration was "the movement of six million African-Americans out of the rural Southern United States to the urban Northeast, Midwest, and West that occurred between 1910 and 1970." The economy in the South was and still is largely based on agricultural whereas the urban areas rely(ied) on factories, etc.
