OpenStudy (help_people):

When constructing parallel lines with a compass and straightedge, how should you start the construction? Measure the length of the original line and make an arc. Create a line that intersects the given line with your straightedge. Open the compass to the width of the line and draw two arcs. Use a straightedge to create two arcs above and below the line.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

In 2-space, 2 perpendiculars make a parallel. Does one of your choices lead to a perpendicular? The word "measure" generally is not allowed.

OpenStudy (help_people):

is it B @tkhunny?

OpenStudy (help_people):

Sorry for the delay. My browser gets laggy at the most Inconvenient times.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I'd do the last one. This is the first step to the construction of a perpendicular.

hero (hero):

@tkhunny explain how to use a straightedge to create two arcs.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Whoops. Sleep reading. Correction noted.
