Robyn has 62.3 points out of 88.7 points. What is Robyn's grade?

OpenStudy (sushi121212):

His grade will be a 75.5 because you have to find the average out of the 2 numbers: First, add the 2 number together: 62.3+88.7=151 Then, you have to divide it by the amount of numbers you added together: 151/2= 75.5

Okay but wouldn't 151 be going over the 100 (A) limit thing

OpenStudy (sushi121212):

Yes, but in order to find the average of something, you add all the numbers together and then divide it by the amount of numbers you added together. It's like if you ahve and 40 out of 50. You would add it together and get 90, though it's over 50, and then divide it by two to get 45. If you want to find the score out of a hundred, then you have to multiply the numbers to get one hundred, like 50 x 2 = 100, so 40 x 2 = 80. You would get an 80% as your grade. If that's not easy enough, you can subtract the numbers by each other, and subtract that from a hundred. I'm sorry if this is confusing.

Oh okay. Thanks
