What is the value of a? Help!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

How far have you gotten?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uhm not far. I know that this involves the corollaries of inscribed angles or whatever, im just not exactly sure what the process is to finding a.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Very good. That IS pretty far. Sum of Interior Angles of a quadrilateral is...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be 360?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Yes. So 100 + 96 + c + d = 360 That's a start. Now what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c is equal to 84 and d is equal to 80

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm i think its cause they're supplementary angles or something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@freckles could you help me with this? this is literally the last question i have to do today lol

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Yes, they are supplementary in pairs. You have it just right. We need more information. The measure of an inscribed angle is 1/2 the arc it intersects. This gives more information.
