Both the Western Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire fell due to a combination of internal and external factors. Do you think the United States is subject to similar pressures? Why or why not?

I think similar but definitely not equivalent. Of course we have internal and external problems but we aren't under attack or anything, nor on a verge of civil war.
