Will fan and medal! In triangle GHI, HI = GH, m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi

OpenStudy (lochana):

I don't really understand what you mean by m<IHG . what is m?

OpenStudy (lochana):

IHG is an angle of IGH triangle. right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me either im 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x-24

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

Yes they are angles with the m.

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

Please help

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just one of the characteristic of triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isosceles triangle if i right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1447075875753:dw|

OpenStudy (lochana):

yes. but dont need that much information to find HIG angle. HIG angle is naturally equal HGI angle since the triangle is isosceles.

OpenStudy (lochana):

so m<HIG = 2x -24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't find the right word, sorry

OpenStudy (lochana):

@ArifL right word?

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

I just need help showing the work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u see english is not my primary language

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

please give me the work

OpenStudy (lochana):

wait for sec

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

okay

OpenStudy (lochana):

sorry. I had some issues

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi

OpenStudy (lochana):

@starpink69 Hello:)

OpenStudy (lochana):

@Hahawowoh Did you see my it. Can you understand now?

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

thank you so much! i get it but the answer key i have says that its 40?

OpenStudy (lochana):

got it. So this means that you want to find x first and then solve for HIG angle

OpenStudy (lochana):

so GHI = 3x + 4 HGI = 2x - 24 GIH = 2x - 24 you may have heard that the sum of all angles of a triangle is equal to 180

OpenStudy (lochana):

now 3x + 4 + 2x - 24 + 2x - 24 =180 solving for x x = 224/7 = 32

OpenStudy (lochana):

now look at GIH. it is 2x -24 so plug 32 instead of x m<GIH = 2*32 -24 = 64-24 = 40

OpenStudy (lochana):

got it?

OpenStudy (hahawowoh):

Yes, really thank you so much :)
