Look at Jerry's monthly budget below. What percentage of Jerry's net income is spent on food? Net Monthly Income: $2,970.00 Expenses: Housing: $750.00 Utilities: $120.00 Food: $450.00 Transportation: $650.00 Healthcare expenses: $200.00 Savings: $300.00 Other expenses: $500.00 Total Monthly Expenses: $2,970.00 15.2% 25.3% 45% 60%

For this... we know the total expenses is 2,970$. As for food, it's 450$. Hold on, just getting my bearings on the problem...

UMM OK

Here's a little trick I learned when dealing with problems like this. If you find 1% of the total, you can use that number and multiply it by all the choices to see if you can find a match. For instance, 1% of 2,970 is 29.70$.

ok you move the decimal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty much. You can use a calculator from here and just multiply the 1% I left you with all your answer choices. Just remember to drop the percentage sign each time. When you think you have found the answer, show me and we can check the work, m'kay?

Any luck?
