\(\begin{aligned}
x^{3}-4x^{2}-5x+20 = ( \color{blue}{ x^{3}-4x^{2} } ) + ( \color{red}{ -5x+20 }) &= \\
&= \color{blue}{ x^{2}( x-4 )} + \color{red}{ -5( x-4 ) } = \\
&= (x^{2}-5)(x-4) \end{aligned}\)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
Set them equal to 0, and one solution is x = 4
and x^2 - 5 = 0
x^2 = 5
x = plus or minus sqrt of 5

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
answer would have been b :)

Just in case anyone asks why I gave a direct answer, the asker asked it 5 minutes ago, and let with a wrong answer
