What happens as you decrease the temperature of a solution?

Elements tend to fall out of solution if cooled down quickly. If cooled down gradually, some over saturated solutions (also known as super saturated) may stay in solution until an outside agent effects it causing the elements to fall out of solution. That is how rock candy is made.
