PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! How did the cotton gin affect life in the South? A. It led to the decline of slavery B. It led to a decrease in factory jobs C. It made cotton farming more profitable D. It made cotton clothing more expensive

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

You have to get the seeds out of cotton to make it very useable. If you have to pick the cotton and take the seeds out by hand it takes a long time and you won't produce very much of it. If you have a machine that cuts down on the labor involved, you can make more of it and sell more at cheaper prices. So you make more money.

what one would that be?

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

make more money=profitable
