OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

Is it politically correct to call someone gay/lesbian or just homosexual?

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

@Monkey4224

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??????????

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

Need to know for my essay

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

Well as of today it technically is because they do not take offense to those words, where as if you were to use the word owlet then they would get upset making it no longer pc

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

Its all based on opinion now days on whether or not it is because people are so touchy when it comes to those subjects

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

But what I am asking is which one would be politically correct because I have friends who are in fact homosexual and do not mind the term gay or lesbian. I feel like nowadays to call someone gay who in fact is would be correct. But right now I am talking in terms of an essay, what would be the right choice of words?

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

Yes those words are politically correct because the term was endowed because of the new marriage laws

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

does that help?

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

Yeah definitely

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

So to clarify if you were writing an essay you would use those words?

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

Glad i can be of assistance, and yes

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

Thanks bro I appreciate it

OpenStudy (jack_prism):

No problem
