Can someone help

President Roosevelt sent troops to support Panamanian rebels in the fight against Columbia so that
A. the Colombians would grant the United States the right to build a canal.
B.Panamanians could be free from Colombian imperialism.
C. the United States could get the rights to buid a canal at a lower price.
D.the Panamanians could build a canal from the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean.

The US wanted the canal. Columbia said no. The Panamanians were in the mood for independance. So we supported Panama, they became independent the we built a canal under US control. So the Panamanians did not build a canal. They were free from Colombia.
Between B and C I'd go with B. It wasn't about the price. It was about control.
