GOOD JOB K12 WHAT GRADE I WILL GIVE THE ANSWER
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So they start with 4 gallons, but drink 5/8 every day. We can use the variable "d" to represent days. So our equations is:
4 - (5/8)d = 0
Now, we want to isolate d by adding (5/8)d to both sides.
The equation now is 4 = (5/8)d
Finally, we divide both sides by 5/8 and get
6.4 = d
It will last 6.4 days.
